Now that your Youtube channel is connected with StreamElements, here is an overview of how to use our features.

StreamElements is cloud-based: therefore your account overlays can be accessed and edited from any device, anywhere. Overlays are constructed in the site’s overlay editor by adding graphics and widgets (such as the alertbox and labels). This means that rather than adding many layers to your broadcasting software such as OBS/Xsplit, your entire overlay is loaded from a single browser source, resulting in a hassle-free stream setup that is secure and portable.

There are three ways to create an overlay.

Creating a new overlay

  1. Go to “My overlays” located on sidebar
  2. Click “Create new overlay” (optional : choose a game for this overlay, this is for convenience sake only)
  3. Name it
  4. Choose resolution according to your preference and click Submit.

Importing from another channel

If you are already using StreamElements, you can import and duplicate your existing overlays into your YouTube live account.

  • Click Import from other overlays (located in “My overlays”)
  • Select the overlays you wish to duplicate
  • Click “Import selected”
  • Twitch labels are automatically converted into YouTube labels (Cheers(TW)= Super Chats(YT), Followers(TW)=Subscribers(YT), Subscribers(TW)=Sponsers(YT)), however, you might want to edit the label texts.

SuperThemes are stunning designer made packages of five overlays for each part of your stream: starting soon, talkshow, gameplay, be right back and stream ended.

StreamElements SuperThemes are accessible through “Themes gallery” located on the left side menu. The theme gallery includes over 30 themes for popular games such as: PUBG, Fortnite, CS:GO, Overwatch, DOTA 2 and much more.

To use a SuperTheme, click “create”, name your overlay and click “Create Overlay” and “See Theme in my overlays.”

You will be redirected to “My Overlays” with your themes grouped under the SuperTheme name.
