Selling Dougie isn't ideal, given Kamara was so blighted by injury last year. But in a way, I'm happier he's gone to Juve than us selling him to Arsenal. I'm sure Emery has a plan and sadly fans will have to get used to clubs maybe ending up selling players just to balance books... Even if it's like paying off your credit cards with other credit cards.

Chelsea remain in advanced talks to sign Boca Juniors defenderAaron Anselmino. The deal for the 19-year-old centre-back is largely believedto be either close or even done depending on who you speak to on the Argentineside but there has yet to be confirmation at Chelsea.

It’s feels like the focus at Stamford Bridge is resolving theopportunities for incomings and outgoings on the Premier League’s profit andsustainability Sunday, which is a key date for clubs to balance the books, likea mini-transfer deadline day.

As a life long Aston Villa supporter, the loss of a player of Douglas Luiz's calibre is hard to take, but to comply with the rules, we sometimes have to bite the bullet and accept we can’t have it all our own way. Good luck Douglas. Thanks for everything!

  7. No extension for young Hammers forwardpublished at 15:40 30 June

    15:40 30 June

    West Ham United

Divin Mubama scored one goal in 18 appearances for West Ham, finding the net in the Hammers' Europa Conference League-winning campaign in 2022-23.

The 19-year-old was on target in their 4-0 win over AEK Larnaca in the second-leg of their last-16 victory over the Cypriot side.

Mubama made his Premier League debut for West Ham in a 3-1 defeat at Arsenal in December 2022 and went on to figure in eight league matches for the club, as well as making appearances in the Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

His most recent contract ends today (30 June) but had an option for a further year, which, it seems, the club has chosen not to trigger.

Nothing is imminent, but he is potentially leaning towards a Europeanoption as it stands.

Douglas Luiz should have been £60m plus, a complete midfielder who was huge for Aston Villa last season. Suspect the PSR deadline pressure has given Juve a huge discount - plus the deal includes Alisha Lehmann who is one of the world's biggest female players on social media - massive commercial loss to the club.

    David

When reports first surfaced about Douglas Luiz's proposed move from Villa to Juventus, the deal was more detailed, including Juve's Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior moving in the opposite direction to Villa Park, and, as you mentioned, Villa Women and Switzerland striker Alisha Lehmann heading with Luiz to Turin.

We are still waiting to confirm whether those transfers have been included in this deal.

Wolves are closing in on the loan signing of Celta Vigo striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The 24-year-old will have a medical on Monday before joining for an initial loan fee of 3m euros (£2.5m).

Wolves will then have the option to buy the Norway international permanently for 27m euros (£23m) next summer.

Larsen scored 16 goals for club and country last season, including 13 in the league, as Celta finished 14th in La Liga.

Wolves have already signed winger Rodrigo Gomes on a five-year deal from Braga, while teenage right-back Pedro Lima will join from Brazilian side Sport Recife on 1 July.

Paul from Northwich: As a follow-up to Tom, Andrew & David at 11:29 on PSR. I completely agree with Andew, these rules are crazy - they are going to ultimately kill the competitiveness of the Premier League against other European leagues. Newcastle are a financially sustainable club - these sell-to-buy considerations are madness.

Luiz gave the Villa team flair and his role created a very multi-dimensional midfield. Will need to bring in some real quality if we want to compete in the Champions League next year, especially as we've sold Luiz and Iroegbunam already. Wouldn't mind a few more free signings like Tielemans to shore up the books!

Brazil midfielder Douglas Luiz told Juventus fans that he was "really happy to be a Bianconero" in a video post on social media after his £42.35m move from Aston Villa to the Serie A club was confirmed.

"I can't wait to play in the Allianz Stadium," he added. "See you soon and Forza Juve!"

The 26-year-old has signed a five-year deal with Juventus to end his stay at Villa Park.

Luiz, who has been capped 15 times by his country, scored 22 goals in 204 appearances for Villa, who signed him from Manchester City in 2019.

The midfielder is currently in the United States with Brazil's national side at the Copa America, where he completed his Juventus medical.

Villa's pressing need to comply with profit and sustainability rules (PSR) meant they had to cash in on one of their key players.

They have already sold midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, 21, to Everton for a reported £9m, while Chelsea have completed a £19m move for their 18-year-old attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman.

Juve might have got a discount, but we kept him out of the Premier League, particularly Arsenal who would have paid more. Good decision Villa!

  16. 'I have been blessed' - Johnson's parting message to West Ham fanspublished at 14:15 30 June

    14:15 30 June

    West Ham United

West Ham defender Ben Johnson, 24, has posted a message to fans, external on the club's website following news that he will leave London Stadium at the end of his contract, which finishes today (30 June).

"I have been blessed to have come through the Academy of Football and to play for the first team in the Premier League, domestic cups and in European competitions," wrote Johnson, who made 109 first-team appearances for West Ham, making his Premier League debut in the 2018-19 season.

"I just want to be known and remembered for my time at West Ham for having played with a smile on my face and having really enjoyed my football. That’s really important to me."

Johnson, who is the cousin of former England defenders Paul Parker and Ledley King, joined the West Ham academy aged seven.

The full-back was part of the squad that won the Europa Conference League in 2023, which he described as his "most special memory".

He added: "To be involved in a European trophy win doesn’t come around frequently, so to be around and be part of it, and to be able to achieve that with West Ham was incredible.

"My dreams were exceeded by what happened two seasons ago and I’m just so, so pleased I did it as a West Ham player. I’ll never forget that night."

    BBC Sport

I have just been speaking to an official at a Premier League club who says it has felt like the build-up to deadline-day this weekend.

It is not a deadline in the sense of players being registered but most clubs need to balance their books by 30 June so they are compliant with Profit and Sustainability Rules.

It explains the confusion around Archie Gray, with both Brentford and Tottenham keen on the Leeds youngster, who clearly doesn't have to move as he is under contract.

Leeds though are trying to avoid a fine and a points deduction.
