Welcome to the Hubspot Community and thank you for your question.
There isn't a default grouping functionality in Hubspot, but there is a way for you to classify and sort contacts based on properties. The easiest way for you to be able to sort and filter contacts based on groups that they belong to would be to create a custom contact property called something like "Group" and the values for the proeprty would be the different possible groups. Here are instructions on how to create a custom contact property.
There are a few different property types to choose from but for something like this I would recommend either a dropdown select or multiple checkbox. Dropdown select will alllow you to only apply one group for each contact at any given time. Multiple checkbox allows you to apply multiple groups to each contact.
Once the property is created, and you add values to the contacts, you can go to your main contacts screen, add filters for the groups on the left hand side, and then save those views with the name of the group as the group name,

SOLVE
I have the same issue. My customers/contacts are all realtors - I want to know if I could sort them by Trade Boards or the speciality eg. Land Sales, Industrial sales, Farm sales etc.
Many a time a contact will belong in 2 to 3 categories - eg belonging to Toronto Real Estate Board and he is a Land Sales Specialist and also a expert of Small Business Sales.
I need this so when I send out leads or imformation pertaining to this one group - that I can make sure the whole category get the same info.

How to create groups to classify my contacts in Hubspot CRM ?
SOLVE
Hi - I'm following this post and curious about creating lists with these custom properties. For example, I want to add a custom property I have created to select users in our contact list so I can email only that "customer property group." I have added the customer proerty to a contact but when I try to create a list it says there's no contacts associated with that property.

Do you save the list and wait until it's processed before it tells you that? Sometimes it can take a few minutes for the list to show the contacts.
If yes,I would recommend connecting withHubSpot Technical Support, as Support is included in your subscription and they will be able to provide real-time assistance for this matter, where you are able to share screenshots and further information about this.
