Don’t Miss These Things in the Faron Region

Checking the local Stables off your to-do list should always be one of the first things you do in any region, and Lakeside Stable is no different. It provides a great landing spot to access the Rainforest and the surrounding area.

Highland Stable is on the Western side of the Faron region, close to the beach and the Taobob Grasslands.

The Lake of the Horse God is an area where the great Horse God Malanya could be found in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Malanya doesn’t reside there anymore, but you can find the mythical Giant White Horse there instead.

If you were feeling a bit too anxious to intentionally fall into the giant whirlpool in Lake Hylia, don’t be. There is plenty of amazing things down there, including a Shrine Quest.

advertisem*nt

The Faron Rainforest includes the many wooded and forest areas in the Southeastern part of Faron. There is a huge number of caves there to explore, as well as the Spring of Courage and a number of Side Quests.

The Spring of Courage is hidden in the depths of the Dracozu Lake area, surrounded by ancient Zonai Ruins. It's the location of the Goddess Statue in the region and the starting point of the Goddess Statue of Courage Side Quest.

Faron Shrines

There are seven Shrines in the Faron region. Click the links below to find the full guide on how to locate and complete each Shrine.

  • Utsushok Shrine
  • Jiukoum Shrine
  • Joju-u-u Shrine
  • Utojis Shrine

The following Shrine also has an accompanying Shrine quest. The link below will provide a full guide on both.

  • Ishokin Shrine

The following two Shrines can be found deep within caves in the Faron region.

  • En-Oma Shrine
  • Susub Shrine

Side Quests and Adventures

There are many people that you need your help in one way or another throughout the Faron region.

  • Outsting the Giants
  • Goddess Statue of Courage

Side Adventures

  • The Flute Player’s Plan
  • Bring Peace to Faron!
  • An Eerie Voice
  • The Beast and the Princess

Faron Region Activities and Minigames

There are plenty more activities to keep yourself entertained in the Faron region other than just completing Shrines and Quests. These activities aren’t Side Quests or Side Adventures in themselves, but they are still fun or lucrative past times.

Blyne’s Horse Race - Minigame

At Highland Stable you can find an NPC namedBlyne. He will challenge you to a horse and cart race. The aim is to get through all ten arches without falling off your horse or losing your cargo.

advertisem*nt

If you complete the course within one minute and thirty seconds, he will give you a Pony Point as a reward. If you beat that time on your first try, you get a bonus two Pony Points. If you beat Blyne’s record time of sixty seconds, he will give you three Pony Points as a reward.

The Giant White Stallion

Highland Stable is also very close to theLake of the Horse God, which used to be the lair of the Horse GodMalanya in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Malanya no longer resides there. However, you can find and tame one of the game’s rare horses in its place.

The Giant White Stallionis a ginormous white horse with a blonde spikey mane that somewhat resembles Link’s hair. It is difficult to sneak up on without being noticed, so it’s a good idea to gear up with some Sneaky Elixirs and, depending on what stage of your adventure you’re at, some stamina-boosting consumables.

You will need at least one and a half wheels of stamina to tame the Giant White Stallion, and it is necessary for theIshokin ShrineQuest.

The Dondon Paddock

Across the road from Lakeside Stable, you will find a field of grazing Dondon. Dondon are docile and friendly creatures whose main food source is Luminous Stones. If you bring Luminous Stones to the Dondon, they will eat them and poop out rare gems, making them one of the best ways to farm Rupees in the game. They are also very cute, which is an extra bonus.

Key Locations in Faron

Towns, Settlements, and Stables

There aren’t any towns in the Faron region, but you can find two stables there that will make your exploration throughout the area much easier. There are also Side Quests and Side Adventures to complete at each one.
